The Muslim community in Darwin has seen significant growth and continues to expand. The Islamic Society of Darwin is affiliated with the Islamic Council of the Northern Territory (ICNT), an umbrella organization that also represents the Islamic societies in Palmerston and Alice Springs. The ICNT itself is a member of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC), while the Imam is part of the Australian National Imam Council (ANIC).
